Welcome to Monday Night Swing a social dance where we every Monday swing-out at Kårhuset.

New to Lindy Hop? There is no drop-in class tonight but just come and we will have someone spend a song showing you a move or two…. Also checkout our beginners’ courses and weekends https://www.heptown.com/classes/#beginners

You are very welcome regardless of age, membership, dance ability, with or without a partner and if you are a student or not.

At this social dance we mostly dance Lindy Hop but you can also find someone dancing Balboa, Solo Jazz and Collegiate Shag. You are of course welcome to come and dance foxtrot, bugg or any dance you know…

  • 80kr fixed rate if you pay by swish or cash at the door.
  • 70kr if you sign-up in advance.
  • 20kr (additional) discount if you are a member and sign-up in advance.
  • 20kr (additional) discount for students(ST), youth or the unemployed(AR) that sign up in advance.
  • Lower price (or free) when we move to Smålands Nation.
  • 0kr for those who sign-up as volunteer and help out during the evening .

Solo Jazz Dance / Authentic Jazz / Jazz Roots / Jenny’s Jazz Tuesdays in Malmö

Solojazz / Autentisk jazz är solodansen (där du dansar själv utan partner) inom swingfamiljen. Med många olika steg och rutiner är solojazz ett fantastiskt sätt att få kroppskontroll, motion och fart på fötterna. En belöning i sig själv och också obligatorisk för alla Lindy Hoppers som vill utvecklas.

Du är mycket välkommen oavsett förkunskaper, ålder och dansförmåga. Solo Jazz passar både den som redan dansar Lindy Hop och den som helt enkelt vill börja dansa solo till swingmusik utan att ha provat andra swingdanser.

Det finns i nuläget bara ett Solo Jazz-block upplagt men vi hoppas addera fler senare. Den här terminen kan du även kombinera din Solo Jazz-kurs men en Rhythm & Blues danskurs https://www.heptown.com/blues/

Jenny’s Style!?

“This course is not about learning a routine or the ‘perfect/correct’ way of solo jazz dancing, this workshops is about learning to have fun with solo jazz and getting yourself more comfortable with experimenting and solo social dancing to swing music!”

During four evenings we will dig into:
* Solo moves:
learn a handful of different basic solo jazz moves to help build you solo jazz vocabulary. No previous experience required. (You are allowed to skip the first two lessons if you already know a lot of Solo Jazz moves)

  • Improvisation and experimentation:
    we will build on the basic moves and learn to dance freely and expressively, you will learn tips and tricks to experiment and play around with the moves which can be applied to solo or partner

  • Social solo jazz: learn to dance solo jazz socially, no need to be scared it’s super fun and this class will show you!
